Orlando-area repairs usually happen at a franchise dealer along the I-4 corridor — Winter Park, Mills/50, Lake Nona, Kissimmee, Sanford, or the dealership rows east and west of downtown. The repair order looks local. The statute does not. A new vehicle sold or leased in Florida is covered by the Florida Motor Vehicle Warranty Enforcement Act, Chapter 681, whether those visits were in Orange, Osceola, or Seminole County.
The metro is a wide mix. Luxury SUVs are common in Winter Park and Dr. Phillips. Electric vehicles show up around Lake Nona and downtown. A lot of owners also put real miles on a daily driver between home and the attractions corridor. Repeat visits for air suspension, infotainment, a battery or charging fault, or a drivetrain that still misbehaves after several tickets are the kinds of histories Chapter 681 was written to address. Florida heat and stop-and-go traffic can make a defect show up sooner. They do not change the legal test.
Recalde Law Firm is a Florida lemon law firm representing vehicle owners throughout Florida, including Orlando and the surrounding area. Florida's Lemon Law (Chapter 681) applies statewide, and we handle cases for Orlando clients from start to finish.
What Orlando buyers usually bring to a review
People call after the same complaint has been written up more than once, or after the vehicle has sat at the dealer long enough to disrupt work. Useful records are ordinary: each repair order, the mileage in and out, days the car was unavailable, and any email or text with the service department. A loaner does not erase those days. An over-the-air software update, where the manufacturer uses one, is not a fresh clock.
The practice focuses on new luxury and electric vehicles — the brands covered on the luxury and EV pages, including Tesla, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, and Range Rover. The statute itself is not limited to those badges. The case review is where we say whether a particular vehicle fits.
The Florida Lemon Law still governs an Orlando repair history
Florida's Motor Vehicle Warranty Enforcement Act, Fla. Stat. ch. 681, applies to new motor vehicles sold or leased in Florida primarily for personal, family, or household use. The Lemon Law Rights Period is 24 months from original delivery to the first consumer. A nonconformity is a defect that substantially impairs the use, value, or safety of the vehicle. Florida law presumes the manufacturer has had a reasonable number of attempts when the same nonconformity has had three or more repair attempts and the defect continues, or when the vehicle has been out of service for 15 or more cumulative days for warranty repairs.
Those thresholds do not change because the dealer is in Orlando. Repair orders from an authorized dealer in the Orlando area are the record. The law that reads that record is statewide. Leased vehicles can qualify when the lease term is at least one year — see leased vehicles under the Florida Lemon Law.
Before a buyback or replacement demand, the consumer generally must give the manufacturer a final written repair opportunity. Many claims then go through a state-certified arbitration program, often BBB AUTO LINE, or the Florida New Motor Vehicle Arbitration Board. How a claim works walks through that sequence. What qualifies as a lemon and how many repair attempts matter answer the two questions people ask first.
Contingency fee
If the applicable Lemon Law allows recovering attorney's fees from the manufacturer in addition to your recovery, we pursue that route. Otherwise the contingency fee is 30% of the gross recovery. That fee is based on the gross recovery and is not reduced by lease or loan payoffs, mileage offsets, use deductions, negative equity, or similar items outside our control.
You pay no upfront attorney fee and no retainer. If we don't recover for you, you owe no attorney fee. Court costs and expenses, if any, are disclosed in the engagement — they are not a retainer.
